This Privacy Policy explains how EconProof collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal data when users access or use the EconProof website, web app, and related services.
EconProof is an AI-powered educational tool for Cambridge International AS & A Level Economics 9708 essay practice, formative marking, model essay planning, diagnostic feedback, and study improvement.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of EconProof, including students, parents, teachers, tutors, and visitors.
By using EconProof, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Important educational and affiliation notice
EconProof is an independent educational product. EconProof is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, approved by, or officially connected to Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Cambridge Assessment International Education, UCLES, or any official examination board.
Any references to Cambridge International, AS & A Level Economics 9708, assessment objectives, syllabus topics, exam papers, or similar terms are used only to describe the educational context supported by EconProof.
EconProof does not provide official exam marking. AI-generated marks, feedback, comments, and study suggestions are formative estimates for learning purposes only.
3. Age requirement and minors
EconProof is intended for users aged 13 and above.
Users under 13 are not allowed to create an account, submit essays, upload content, or use EconProof.
If you are under 18, you may use EconProof only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
If EconProof becomes aware that personal data has been collected from a user under 13, EconProof may delete the account and associated data as soon as reasonably possible.
Parents or guardians who believe that a child under 13 has used EconProof should contact asliddin@econproof.app.
4. Personal data we collect
EconProof may collect the following categories of personal data.
4.1 Account information
When you create or use an account, EconProof may collect:
- name or display name;
- email address;
- login and authentication information;
- account status;
- subscription status;
- user preferences;
- saved account settings.
4.2 User-submitted educational content
When you use EconProof’s essay marking, essay planning, study, or feedback features, EconProof may collect and process:
- essay questions;
- student essay responses;
- model essay plans generated or saved through the app;
- AI feedback, comments, mark estimates, and diagnostic results;
- assessment objective breakdowns, including AO1, AO2, and AO3 feedback;
- uploaded diagram images, if diagram-checking features are used;
- study targets, saved drafts, notes, or other learning content submitted by the user.
Users should not submit unnecessary sensitive personal information inside essays, notes, diagrams, or feedback requests.
4.3 Technical and usage information
EconProof may collect technical and usage data, including:
- IP address;
- browser type and version;
- device type;
- operating system;
- pages visited;
- features used;
- session timestamps;
- app performance data;
- error logs;
- security logs;
- approximate location derived from IP address;
- referral source, such as the page or link that led to EconProof.
4.4 Payment and billing information
If paid plans, subscriptions, or one-time purchases are enabled, payment processing may be handled by third-party payment providers.
EconProof may receive limited billing-related information, such as:
- payment status;
- plan type;
- transaction reference;
- billing date;
- subscription renewal or cancellation status;
- last four digits of a card, where provided by a payment processor;
- payment provider name.
EconProof does not intentionally store full card numbers, card security codes, or complete banking credentials on its own servers.

If you contact EconProof by email or through support channels, EconProof may collect:

- email address;
- message content;
- files or screenshots you send;
- support history;
- any other information you choose to provide.
5. How EconProof uses personal data
EconProof may use personal data for the following purposes:
- to provide access to the app;
- to create, authenticate, and manage user accounts;
- to mark essays and generate AI feedback;
- to generate model essay plans;
- to save essays, feedback, plans, and user progress;
- to show users their previous work and learning history;
- to diagnose writing weaknesses and suggest study targets;
- to improve app performance, reliability, and user experience;
- to detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, misuse, and security issues;
- to provide customer support;
- to process payments and manage subscriptions;
- to send service-related messages, such as account, billing, security, or policy updates;
- to comply with legal obligations;
- to enforce EconProof’s Terms of Service.
6. AI processing
EconProof uses artificial intelligence systems to process educational content and generate feedback.
When a user submits an essay, question, model plan request, diagram, or related content, that content may be sent to AI service providers for processing.
AI processing may include:
- estimating mark ranges;
- identifying AO1 knowledge, AO2 analysis, and AO3 evaluation;
- producing paragraph-level feedback;
- diagnosing weak or strong points;
- suggesting improvements;
- generating model essay plans;
- comparing drafts;
- identifying relevant study targets.
AI-generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inconsistent. EconProof does not guarantee that AI feedback will match official examiners, teachers, schools, tutors, or mark schemes.
EconProof does not intentionally permit third-party AI providers to use identifiable student submissions to train public AI models where provider settings or contractual controls allow this to be restricted.
7. Legal bases for processing
Depending on the user’s location and applicable law, EconProof may process personal data based on one or more of the following legal bases:
- user consent;
- performance of a contract with the user;
- legitimate interest in operating, improving, and securing EconProof;
- compliance with legal obligations;
- protection of users, EconProof, or others from fraud, abuse, or security threats.
8. Data sharing and service providers
EconProof may share personal data with trusted service providers only when necessary to operate, secure, improve, or support the service.
These service providers may include:
- hosting providers;
- database providers;
- authentication providers;
- AI model providers;

9. No sale of personal data
EconProof does not sell personal data.
EconProof does not sell student essays, uploaded diagrams, account information, or learning history to advertisers or data brokers.
10. Advertising and marketing
EconProof may send service-related emails, such as account, billing, security, or policy updates.
EconProof may send product updates or educational messages if users have provided consent or where applicable law allows such communication.
Users may unsubscribe from non-essential marketing emails. Essential service, security, legal, and billing messages may still be sent.
EconProof does not knowingly target personalized advertising to users under 18.
11. Cookies and local storage
EconProof may use cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies to:
- keep users logged in;
- remember preferences;
- protect accounts;
- measure usage;
- detect errors;
- improve performance;
- prevent fraud and abuse.
Users can control cookies through browser settings. Disabling cookies or browser storage may prevent some parts of EconProof from working correctly.
12. Data retention
EconProof keeps personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Different data may be retained for different periods:
- account data is kept while the account remains active;
- saved essays, model plans, and feedback are kept while the user keeps them in the account;

- deleted data may remain in backups for a limited period before being overwritten or removed.

14. Account deletion
Users may request account deletion by contacting asliddin@econproof.app.
After a valid deletion request, EconProof will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize account data and saved educational content unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud prevention, accounting, or dispute resolution reasons.
Deletion may not immediately remove data from encrypted backups, logs, or provider systems, but such data will be removed or overwritten according to normal retention cycles where technically feasible.
15. Data security
EconProof uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including:
- encrypted connections where supported;
- authentication controls;
- access restrictions;
- database security rules;
- monitoring for errors and abuse;
- limited access to personal data;
- secure service provider infrastructure where available.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users are responsible for keeping login credentials secure and for notifying EconProof if they suspect unauthorized access to their account.

EconProof may use service providers located in countries outside the user’s country of residence. Personal data may therefore be processed in other jurisdictions.
Where required by applicable law, EconProof will use reasonable safeguards for international data transfers.

18. User responsibility when submitting content
Users must not submit content that includes:
- unnecessary personal data about themselves or others;
- another person’s private information without permission;
- illegal content;
- confidential school or exam materials that the user is not allowed to share;
- copyrighted materials in a way that violates applicable law;
- content intended to abuse, hack, manipulate, or disrupt EconProof.

EconProof may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If changes are material, EconProof may notify users by email, in-app notice, website notice, or another reasonable method.
Continued use of EconProof after the effective date of an updated Privacy Policy means the user accepts the updated Privacy Policy.
